The American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)

Scenario

Follow Morgan, a single mother of three, and how her extraordinary mind allows her to help solve a crime while organizing evidence as a police cleaner. Despite her extremely high IQ, excellent memory, and extensive knowledge of the mystery, Morgan makes basic mistakes in the law that no one who has ever watched a legal show can make. For example, in the first episode, she retrieves a document from a locked safe in the suspected victim’s law office that would never be admissible in court – illegally obtained evidence. It also could not be used to obtain other evidence – violating the legal doctrine of “fruit of the poisonous tree”.

A remake of HPI (2021)

In episode 2, she is reminded to wear gloves before handling evidence at a crime scene, and in episode 3, she removes all documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of custody and making what she removed inadmissible in court. I really love any series/movie that features someone with a unique ability hidden behind a personality that just doesn’t fit. It’s like a secret superpower. The main character has just that.

She plays the infuriated one so well!

Her life seems to be a bit of a mess, she’s all over the place, but… she’s crazy smart and notices details that other experienced people miss. I was already a fan of Kaitlin, so it’s no surprise that I like her here too. I appreciate that every episode solves a case.

This will do the trick

I’m over a series that lasts a whole season or more. Just give me a solid story and conclusion in under an hour! It’s well paced, has some funny lines, and is overall just enjoyable to watch. I’m really looking forward to the next installment.

A solid MC to root for

I hope they don’t cancel it after one season like everyone else these days.
